Terms of Use
Last updated 25 October 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and the independent developer who makes Tact ("Tact", "we", "us"). They cover the Tact app and website. By using Tact you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use Tact.
What Tact is. Tact uses AI to suggest how to read a conversation and what to reply. Suggestions can be wrong, and they aren't professional, psychological or relationship advice. You decide what to send, and you're responsible for it.
Acceptable use. Don't use Tact to harass, deceive, manipulate, pressure or harm anyone; to keep pursuing someone who has said no or asked for space; or with conversations involving anyone under 18. Don't try to break, overload, reverse-engineer or get around the limits of the service, or resell it.
Your content. You keep all rights to the screenshots and text you upload. You give us permission to process them only to provide Tact to you, as described in the Privacy Policy. Only upload content you have the right to share, and respect the privacy of the people in your chats.
AI output. You may use the replies and other output Tact gives you however you like. AI can produce output that is inaccurate, or similar to output given to other people, and we don't guarantee any result, including a reply, a date or a relationship.
Subscriptions and free trials. Tact Pro is sold through your App Store or Google Play account, which is charged when you confirm the purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically at the then-current price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. A free trial turns into a paid subscription when it ends unless you cancel before then. You can manage or cancel your subscription in your store account settings; deleting the app doesn't cancel it. Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their policies. If a price changes, your store will tell you before it applies to you.
Free tier and fair use. Without Pro you get one free read and one free profile review a week. Tact Pro has no daily limit on reads. To keep the service working for everyone, each subscription has a weekly fair-use allowance measured by how much processing your requests take; ordinary personal use stays well inside it. If you reach it, Pro pauses until the allowance resets 7 days after your first request that week, and the app shows when that is.
Suspension and ending. You can stop using Tact at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms or misuse the service. We may change or stop offering Tact; if we stop it entirely, we'll give reasonable notice where we can. Refunds for any remaining subscription period are handled by Apple or Google.
Our property. Tact, including its design, text, logo and software, belongs to us. We give you a personal, non-transferable right to use the app for as long as you follow these terms.
Third-party services. Tact relies on other services, such as the app stores, an AI service and hosting providers. We aren't responsible for their outages or changes, but we choose them carefully.
No warranty. Tact is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we make no promises that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or suitable for a particular purpose.
Limits on liability. To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for the outcome of any conversation, date or relationship. Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for Tact in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law doesn't allow to be limited, such as for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
Your consumer rights. If you live in a country with mandatory consumer protection laws (for example the UK or the EU), these terms don't take away the rights those laws give you.
Apple App Store. If you downloaded Tact from the App Store: these terms are between you and us, not Apple, and Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for Tact. If Tact fails to meet any warranty that applies, you can tell Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price (if any); Apple has no other warranty obligation. We, not Apple, are responsible for handling any claims about Tact, including product liability, consumer protection, privacy and intellectual property claims. You confirm that you aren't in a country under a US government embargo and aren't on a US government list of restricted parties. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.
Changes to these terms. We may update these terms. We'll change the date at the top, and if a change is significant, we'll tell you in the app before it applies. If you keep using Tact after a change, you accept the updated terms.
